Navigating Uncertainty: Trusting the Journey Even When the Path Changes

Two days before 2026, I lost my job.
In the middle of 2025, I took a leap of faith. I left my personal training career to join a startup full-time. I believed in its vision, its potential for growth, and the stability it promised. But in the end, the founder decided to dissolve the company.
Do I regret taking the leap? Not at all. The experience gave me so much—confidence, personal growth, and lessons I’ll carry with me forever. I trust that God used that season for a purpose, even if I don’t fully see it yet.
But… I won’t lie. Right now, it stinks.
It’s scary to have something you were counting on vanish just before the new year. It makes you question your decisions, your timing, and your future. So much change all at once can feel overwhelming.
Focusing on the Positives
Even in the midst of uncertainty, I’m trying to focus on the things I am grateful for. I’ve been able to call the UK home for the past three years, which has given me a sense of adventure and a perspective I might never have gained otherwise. I have a supportive husband and our dog, Kevin, who remind me every day that love and companionship can be anchors in the storm. I’m grateful for my mum and sister, whose unwavering love, encouragement, and late-night phone calls have kept me grounded no matter the distance. I’ve also met incredible friends along the way, people who have become like family, offering laughter, support, and shared adventures that make this journey richer and brighter. I’ve had the chance to travel, explore, and experience life in ways I never imagined, wandering through quaint villages, tasting new foods, and meeting people whose stories inspire me. Beyond the places and experiences, I’m grateful for the small, quiet moments: morning coffee watching the sunrise, late-night laughter with my husband, and even the challenges that remind me how resilient I can be. These moments, big and small, are grounding me and helping me see that even in transition, life is still full of beauty, lessons, and blessings.
So… What’s Next?
This is our last year in the UK, and I’m figuring out what’s next for me career-wise, purpose-wise, and emotionally. Some days feel overwhelming, and I beat myself up for not having a “clear” career path. Other days, I focus on staying grounded, hopeful, and trusting the process.
As a military spouse, I’ve learned that we sacrifice a lot. We adapt, restart, and rebuild more times than most people see. It can feel isolating, but if you’re in a similar position, know this: you are not alone.
I don’t have all the answers right now. But I am choosing to give myself grace, trust the process, and believe that God has something good unfolding -- even when I can’t see it clearly.
If you follow along, I’ll be sharing posts and blogs about living our last year in the UK-- exploring, soaking it all in, and navigating the search for work along the way.
A Message to Anyone Navigating Uncertainty
To anyone navigating uncertainty right now, I see you. I see the late nights of worrying, the moments of self-doubt, and the times you’ve questioned whether you’re on the “right” path. I want you to know that it’s okay not to have all the answers. Life doesn’t always follow a straight line, and that’s where the beauty and growth happen.
Even in the messiness of transitions, there is space for joy, curiosity, and discovery. There are opportunities to learn, to connect with people who lift you up, and to find parts of yourself you might never have known existed. Each step, even the ones that feel uncertain, is part of a larger story that is uniquely yours.
So as we step into this new year, I am choosing hope over fear, trust over doubt, and gratitude over frustration. I am reminding myself and anyone reading this that it is okay to pause, reflect, and breathe. We do not have to have it all figured out today. Life is a journey, and sometimes the detours lead to the most meaningful destinations.
If you are reading this, I hope it encourages you to take a moment for yourself, to notice the blessings around you, and to trust that even when the path changes, you are capable of navigating it with grace, courage, and resilience. Let us embrace this uncertainty together, knowing that growth, joy, and new beginnings are waiting, even when we cannot see them yet.
To anyone navigating uncertainty right now, I see you. 🤍
Love, Love, Love this!
